On The Mind-Warp PaVilion Tracker

NOTE: These guidelines are subject to change without notice if and when necessary.
It is an Uploader's responsibility to be familiar with their content prior to any Upload to Mind-Warp PaVilion's Tracker.

Please Do:

1. read Mind-Warp PaVilion's Software Recommendations prior to creating your Torrent and update the mentioned software if required.

2. when you create and upload a Torrent, please be prepared to commit as much available bandwidth to your Upload as possible until at least one person has finished their download. Seeding parallel torrents to any tracker will reduce your upload bandwidth when you should be concentrating on your own Upload.

3. research what you are uploading. There are many fan sites, which a Google or other search may return, that have information about dates, venues and other detail about performances of many artists. Accurate and comprehensive information in your info text file and Torrent Announce is an essential part of your Torrent upload. Therefore, please ensure that your info text file and your Torrent Announce contain all the relevant information about your Upload, including but not limited to, Artist, Title, Date/Venue, Author (if known), Lineage, Audio/Video Source, DVD Technical Details, Number Of Discs, Artwork Included or link to artwork in the MWP Gallery, comprehensive Tracklisting and Torrent History. Ideally your Torrent Announce should hold the same information as your info text file. This not only helps potential downloaders to assess whether to download or not but this information is important when MWP users perform searches of its Tracker.  There is no such thing as too much information.

4. when giving your Torrent a title please ensure it matches the title of any artwork you are including in your Torrent or any artwork in the gallery if you are sure that it is the correct artwork. If the artwork states that a title is, for example, 'The 1980 Floor Show' then your Torrent Upload must be called the same. It should not be called, for example 'Midnight Special'.This is to remove doubt about a particular source or version where multiple versions exist.

5. give your root folder a unique name. Remember that when you create a .torrent file, that file will contain information about how the download will be saved on a downloader's computer.

6. give your .torrent file a unique name that includes Artist, Title, Type and the Mind-Warp PaVilion URL,
for example; DavidBowie_ANightInLoreley_2CD_Silver[www.mindwarppavilion.org].torrent

7. ensure that any artwork you scan is straight and is scanned at a decent resolution. MWP recommends no less than 400dpi.

8. ensure you are familiar with Mind-Warp PaVilion's policies regarding Torrents Allowed and Prohibited Artists/Bands prior to your Upload. These policies are subject to change without notice and, if breached, a Torrent may be banned and/or a member demoted.

9. feel free to contact the Tracker Admins, Stefan, GoblinKing and freestate via PM or email, or make a post in Low Tech's At The Wheel if you have problems creating, uploading or seeding your Torrent. Also, any questions regarding any other aspects of your upload, or questions or concerns in general, are welcome. There is a first time for everyone and everything, and the Admins and the MWP community will always be happy and willing to help you in any way they can.

A Few Words About Honesty - When creating and uploading a Torrent, either Audio or Video, MWP encourages you to be honest about the content of your upload when making your Announce. Be familiar with your upload - take the time to sit and watch/listen to it prior to creating your Torrent and Uploading it and make notes as you watch/listen regarding quality, errors etc. If the video or audio quality is poor please say so. Keep in mind that a high DVD Transfer Rate does not necessarily mean good video/sound quality, nor does an audio rip from a Silver bootleg necessarily indicate broadcast/soundboard quality. MWP assumes that if you've taken the time to create and upload a Torrent you will continue to use MWP's Tracker either as an uploader or a downloader in the future and your reputation can be made or lost based on your Announce. If you are honest the future is bright for all concerned.

Please Do Not:

1. include artwork scans or screencaps in your Torrent Announce. Ideally, artwork should be included in your Upload or you should provide a link to the MWP Gallery in your Announce if the artwork is there. If there is no artwork for your Upload that you know of, please say so in your Announce. Screencaps, if necessary, should be included as attachments by editing your post in the Announce thread subsequent to the actual Torrent Announce.

2. provide a link to artwork in the Gallery in place of comprehensive content or tracklistings in your Torrent Announce.
